Given my daughters allergy to milk, wheat, olive oil, sunflower oil, yeast and a number of other allergens I nursed her for 18 months!

I am currently still nursing my 17 month old daughter and plan to continue for another year if she wants to. It is nurturing, comforting, bonding and beautiful and she is rarely sick. I feel blessed to be able to and I would encourage mothers who can't nurse due to milk production problems or other complications to comfort nurse if their baby would enjoy that. It's not all about the milk but about the love:)
Hi Christine,

I think it's amazing that you are still nursing, once I stopped at 18 months my daughter always had her hands inside my top for comfort, your right it's about the love and comfort :-)
Hi Sheinina,
Thank you for creating such a wonderful forum for moms! I think it's amazing you nursed so long with such a full career! When you stopped nursing was it hard for either of you? How did it transpire? Best of luck with the awards show too! Sounds incredible:)
